The Dubai eatery will be serving up the dish in celebration of Canada Day
If you’re unfamiliar with one of Canada’s favourite dishes, now is the perfect time to get acquainted, as Dubai’s pun-filled eatery eggspectation is giving out a bunch of them for free.
Essentially a classy version of chips and gravy, this French-Canadian classic originates from the province of Quebec. It usually contains French fries and cheese curds topped with gravy. Hearty, delicious comfort food.
And in celebration of Canada Day on Sunday July 1, eggspectation is handing out complimentary poutine all day long just for the occasion.
Across its two branches at The Beach and in City Walk, every table at the café will be treated to a portion of the signature dish when buying a main meal.
eggspectation first opened its doors in Montreal, Canada back in 1993, and has since set up around the globe, including in in Dubai, India, the USA and more.
It is, of course, famous for its signature egg dishes, including smoked salmon Benedict, its monster head-sized pancake stacks, and our faves, the southwest sunrise omelette topped with avocado and cheese. There's also a range of tasty non-egg-based mains, too, such as mac and cheese, burgers and sarnies.
This isn’t the first time the café has given out free poutine. It did the same when celebrating Canadian Thanksgiving last year.
We’ll see you on July 1.
