Here is where we’ve seen rents begin to buck the trend across the six areas we profiled. Prices in typically desirable locations – Dubai Marina, Business Bay, JBR and Downtown Dubai have risen, most notably in Downtown Dubai, where prices were Dhs3,928 per year higher in July 2017 than they were in February 2017. Maybe tenants have realised that they can now live in areas they perhaps have always wanted to, if they move into larger properties and share, driving prices in this sector of the market up. It’s also in this property category where we see that Palm Jumeirah again buck the trend, with a saving of Dhs18,028 per year by July 2017.
